Our company name focuses on the word, “legacy,” which has several meanings. Legacy is often used to describe an inheritance of money. It’s a financial gain that is passed along when there is a death in the family.
We interpret the word with a broader perspective: Merriam-Webster defines a legacy as “something transmitted by or received from an ancestor or predecessor or from the past.” Legacies can be financial gains. But they can also be ideas, values, and behavior.
At Forbes Legacy Advisors, we believe that families who focus on identifying and enriching their family through ideas, values and behavior create the greatest environment and opportunity for their family members to thrive.
Our company name also recognizes the family history of our founder. As the 6th generation of a family now in its 8th generation, Jamie’s personal experience and observations from his extended family provide a useful backdrop and, together with professional research and practices, informs our thinking, activities and the approach for our work today.
